Interlocking Concrete Pavement

  1. Area to be treated is demarcated and confirmed at site with the Engineer representative.
  2. Existing ICP blocks are removed and excavation is carried out to achieve the require depth.
  3. Upon achieving the required depth, the required treatment is carried as per work order scope work: laying of DBM (refer 2.3.E.iii) or CBM.
  4. Fine sand layer is laid to the 20 mm thickness prior to ICP installation works.
  5. Installation of ICP shall be started with restraining blocks at the edge of area, followed with ICP blocks.
  6. Fine sand is the poured on the completed ICP layer and is ensured that all the blocks are in tightly installed.  The remaining sand is then swept to have clean surface.

Paving Fabric

Preliminary works

  2. Surface is cleaned from dirt, dust and vegetation by sweeping with mechanical power broom.

Application of Polymer Modified Binder (PMB 1/76)

  1. Polymer modified binder (PMB 1/76) shall be sprayed using mechanical distributor spray bar to the required rate as specified in the specification.
  2. Temperature of the tack coat shall be sufficiently high to permit a uniform spray pattern and traffic shall not be allowed on the tack coat.

Installation of Paving Fabric

  1. Installation of paving fabric shall be done using custom-made rig supplied by the supplier.
  2. The paving fabric shall be laid with minimum wrinkling or folding

Overlay of Wearing Course
