Mill and Pave 200 mm (50 mm ACWC + 60 mm ACBC/DBM + 90 mm DBM)

- Area to be repaired is demarcated and confirmed
at site with the Engineer representative.
- The milling work shall be done as mentioned in
2.3.A. Milling is done in stages as to get proper longitudinal joint with
the offset as stated in the drawing at both sides (if required).
- Preparation
of surface of the unbound layer shall be as required by specifications or
as instructed by the Engineer. If
the laying of DBM is to be carried out on the same day, the edge of milled
surface shall be sprayed with tack coat (or other surface coating as per
scope of works) shall be applied.
If the surface is to be laid on the next day, then the unbound
layer shall be sprayed with prime coat.
- 90 mm thickness
of DBM is laid and compacted.
- Prior to the
laying of the second layer (ACBC/DBM), tack coat is to be sprayed if the
laying is planned on the next day.
However, no tack coat is to be sprayed if the second layer is
planned to be laid on the same day as the first layer.
- 60 mm
thickness of DBM is laid and compacted.
- Prior to
laying of ACWC, tack coat (or other surface coating as per scope of works)
shall be applied as per specifications.
- 50 mm thick
of ACWC is then laid and compacted.
- Compaction shall follow the rolling
pattern established during the trial lay.
- Only two
layers are permitted to be laid in one day. Between the two layers of the same day,
surface coating is not necessary. The
laid material is to be let to cure for minimum of 6 hours and during this
duration the lane is to be closed from traffic.
